If you frequent this blog, you will often find lists of some of my favorite classic motion pictures from way back when.
On occasion, I receive emails from some of you fine people about what modern movies I enjoyed or I think are classics.
It is difficult to define modern, but I’m going to go with films that have come out since I was born in 1988 (in no particular order):
Schindler’s List
Pulp Fiction
There Will Be Blood
21 Grams
JFK
Memento
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
Heat
Downfall (German)
The Lives of Others (German)
Note: I think Christopher Nolan is the best filmmaker today, and I’ve enjoyed every picture (except that Al Pacino / Robin Williams film) of his.
