For years, my go-to classical music composers, whether for background atmosphere or intensive listening, have been J.S. Bach (my favorite of all time), Frederic Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Ludwig van Beethoven.
In recent months, I have fallen in love with Franz Schubert.
To be fair, I have occasionally listened to Schubert since I first got involved in the classical genre in my teens. Violin Concerto in D Minor, Death and the Maiden, and String Quartet in G major were my typical picks. Lately, however, I have found myself going through a treasure trove of sublime works.
He has quickly entered into my top five favorite composers in history.
